The fencing team participates in the World Championships with 13 Fencers.

The fencing team will head to Georgia tomorrow, Sunday, to participate in the World Championships, which will be held from July 22 to 30, where athletes from around the world will compete in individual and team competitions for men and women in all three disciplines: foil, sabre, and épée. The event will be held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, which is hosting this global event for the first time. This is the last competition of the fencing season for our national team.
Our national team is participating with a group of 13 male and female players, competing in the sabre category with Khalifa Al-Abri, Hamed Al-Mazmi, Khalid Mubarak, and Mahra Abdullah, and in the épée category with Khalifa Al-Zarouni, Omran Al-Balushi, Maid Mohammed, Abdullah Al-Hammadi, and Al-Anoud Al-Saadi. In the foil category, the team includes Fares Al-Balushi, Hamad Al-Jlaf, Khalifa Al-Kaabi, and Shama Al-Abri. The delegation includes the technical staff consisting of Osama Adel, technical director, Georgi Laminov, épée coach, and Virgil Marcia, sabre coach.
Mahra Abdullah traveled a few days ago to join the International Federation camp, which is being held for a number of players worldwide. Mahra Abdullah was selected to be among a group of world players at this camp, which runs from the 15th to the 21st of this month, with the major international event kicking off the following day.
